It's a Hunter Laing bottling of Ben Nevis single malt, distilled back in December 1996 and left to age for 24 years in a single refill butt cask. Nearly a quarter of a century later, the cask was cracked open and the whisky was bottled in June 2021. It shows the aromas of strawberry ice cream, juxtaposed with oaky spices and a hint of earthy malt. On the palate, it shows cedar, liquorice, toffee apples and grilled plums, finishing with black pepper and strawberry again.
